“German Team Serpent driver Markus Mobers reports on the final of the West German Championship - Last weekend the last qualifier for the 1:10 Nitro Nationals took place at the all new Düren track. The RMC Düren had built a brand new track, which was a challenge for everybody. The new layout is fantastic and has fast passages as well as technical parts. In qualifying team Serpent dominated big time. I secured the TQ, closely followed by Frederik Südhoff, Federico Veronesi 4 seconds back and young gun Tobias Hepp another 2 seconds down. It was funny to see all four of us pitting on the same table and taking all direct places for the final. The mix of youth and experience together with good teamwork made the difference.” Read More… [Source - serpent.com]

Piraterc.com has recently published the following report - “Graham Alsop takes the 2008 Apex GP with a fantastic win after some awesome racing. Those racers lucky enough to attend the GP were presented with a perfectly groomed race track, and one of the best race meetings of 2008 in the UK. Day one got off to a rather wet start, with rain overnight, and still falling rather nicely to kick the day off. A true credit to the people behind preparing the track and dedicating there time to put on a truly awesome event.” Read More… [Source - PirateRC]

“A few weeks ago we told you about the new line up of Tourex 1/8th scale buggy tires from Reckward Tuning. Our friends at RT were in contact once again to give us further details regarding the different compounds as well as confirming that the tires, along with the foam inserts, will be available in the middle of next month, while the pre glued versions will come on both white & yellow wheels in the middle of October. Available in 4 different patterns, the soft compound is suitable for cold or wet conditions, so perfect for slippery tracks, the medium compound is great for general use, while the hard compound works better with higher outside temperatures and gives better handling over longer runs.” [Source - redrc.net]

“Team Associated have announced the release of some new parts for the RC8 and RC8T. Starting with these big bore shocks, they are available for both the front and rear of the car and come with hard anodized, threaded 16mm aluminum shock bodies. Extra-large shock bladders allow full volume compensation, while together with the heavy-duty 4mm stainless steel shafts the shocks provide increased stability in rough sections as well as providing softer landings on big jumps. Also new are some handy tools which will make your 16mm Big Bore shock adjustments a snap. Finally for both cars are these new clutch shoes made from durable and hard 2024 alloy that claim to extend the life of your clutch. The harder material will last longer between rebuilds and maintenance, which equates to more time on the track. Click more to see the other products…”

Myrcbox.com has recently published the following review - “For the test, I installed the Novarossi Plus 28-7 in my truggy coupled to a Team Associated Factory tuned pipe and I used Trinity Monster Horsepower 30% fuel. The engine fits directly where a .21 or .28 goes. The break-in was easy, the needles valves were set rich from the factory and the engine fired as soon as fuel entered the carb. After 2 tanks, I began to slowly lean the engine. At the end of the seventh tank, the engine was running in the 220-230F range with a light blue smoke coming out of the tuned pipe. The engine is really easy to tune, if you take your time and “listen” to your engine, tuning will be really easy.” Read More...[Source - Friend and site partnermyrcbox.com]

Driving his 720 ‘08, Dempsey took his maiden victory from fellow Serpent driver Chris Lawlor to claim a result which would top off the perfect season for Team Serpent. By locking out the top two places on the podium the pair ensured Clive Connolly won the 1:10 200mm National title at his first attempt. Having successfully defended his 1:8 National title at the previous round Connolly and Serpent claimed a unique National Championship double while Michael Byrne and Chris Lawlor made it total Serpent domination by winning the respective 1:8 and 1:10 ORCA Championships.” Read More… [Source - serpent.com]

“Werks Racing is pleased to announce the release of it’s new and improved 1/8th buggy inserts. How do you improve on our neon green buggy inserts that were already one of the most popular molded inserts amongst the US indoor racing crowd? It’s not easy I’ll tell you that much! We kept the same wide, slightly rounded profile that works exceptionally well with most of today’s more popular tire designs on the market. However when it came to materials we took a fresh approach! Our inserts use a new, lighter weight, higher quality material that allows us to make an even more consistent insert, virtually eliminating any difference in hardness between one insert to another. This allows you to have the most consistent and balanced performance from your tires! As an added bonus the new material is less prone to disintegrating resulting in a more consistent, longer wearing insert all at the same price as the old one! Werks Racing 1/8th buggy molded insert WRX7092, still the same part number but now even better. Easily recognizable in new “pure white”!” [Source -neobuggy.net]
